The following information is for those who have already reserved their trip at bear cub’s den or thinking of booking. it may be helpful to all, especially if visiting Snowshoe for the first time!
- Check-In is 2 PM – Check-Out is 12 PM
- You will receive a Welcome Email with two door codes, about a week prior to your trip, through your booking site. The first code will be used to open the front door and foyer door. The second code is for the garage door keypad that gives you access to the heated garage.
- Cell phone service is very weak in Snowshoe. Most phones now use WiFi for text and talk. There is free WiFi throughout the home. There will also be a landline if needed. This phone number will be provided in the Welcome Email.
- Internet service in Snowshoe is provided by one company. There are times where the internet is fast and reliable. Unfortunately, there are days where the internet will stop working. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope you understand it’s beyond our control. We will, however, contact CityNet as soon as possible to see if there is a solution.
- Directions and maps may vary on our location. We are located near Soaring Eagle in the old Sawmill Village neighborhood. There is a new sign that says ‘The Sanctuary’ which is our new name. Look for the ‘Gatehouse’ building and drive underneath it. We are the 2nd house on the right, red and brown in color.
- There will be a ‘Welcome Binder’ inside the home when you arrive. Please take a quick look as there will be very useful information inside.
- Throughout the home there will be directions and/or tips on how things work. For example, how to turn on the fireplace.
- The following will be provided for you:
- Towels (Professionally Laundered)
- Bed Linens (Professionally Laundered)
- Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash in Every Shower
- Hair Dryer

- The main TV in the living room has cable and is a smart TV. Most streaming apps are already installed. The bedroom TV’s do not have cable. Some of these TV’s do have Smart capabilities and will continue to replace the older TV’s with new one’s. Please stream content from your laptop if needed (HDMI cable provided) on TV’s without Smart capabilities. The upstairs loft has a smart Blu-Ray DVD player. It will also stream most apps.
- Bring your own food and drinks with you. There is a very limited selection of food stores and they are expensive. Bring everything you need for your stay……you will thank me later!
- Bring sandals/flip flops and robe/beach towel for the hot tub. Sandals/flip flops are important all year long. Winter, they will keep your feet warm from the snow, and in the summer, they will keep debris from sticking to your feet which will dirty the hot tub.
- Hot Tub instruction video below. PLEASE DO NOT BRING GLASS INTO THE HOT TUB. There are plastic cups available for your use. Also, PLEASE PLACE COVER BACK ONTO HOT TUB WHEN FINISHED and CONNECT AT LEAST ONE BLACK LATCH to keep cover from lifting off. You CAN NOT GO INTO THE HOT TUB DIRTY from activities like hiking, biking, ATV tours. This will dirty the water immediately and turn the hot tub OFF. The HOT TUB WILL BE UNUSABLE FOR THE REST OF YOUR TRIP AND WILL HAVE A FEE IMPOSED FOR CLEANING. If not sure, shower first before entering. There is s a $75 cleaning fee for the hot tub. Please let us know if you do not plan to use it.
- There is a fire-pit in the patio area. There are several places that sell firewood, including gas stations and the mountain top general store (Wildcat Provisions)
- The heated garage has racks to hang your ski and snowboard equipment. Please do not bring anything into the home.
- Look at the pictures below to see how to access the slopes. It’s a very short walk to both Soaring Eagle Express and Soaring Eagle shuttle bus stop.
- We spend half our time in this home. We try to fix and repair everything we notice while staying here. If there is anything we overlooked, please let us know. We appreciate another set of eyes in our home!
